Smart Motor Numeric Control
SMNC Screen Shot

“Combitronic ™” is a parallel-processing control architecture developed for use over standard CAN bus (Control Area Network) interface to synchronize an array up to 120 separate Animatics Integrated Motors.  A single multi-axis program is developed to operate all machine functions. This program is loaded Globally to all SmartMotors  ™”.

All SmartMotors concurrently run the same program, complex operations like interpolated motion or camming seem simple.  Unlike traditional systems that rely upon a master controller located in an enclosure there are no propagation delays, cable issues, or deterministic arbitration problems.  All participants are autonomous within the global program.

Additionally there are 10 optically isolated 24vdc IO and 7 IO that are 5vdc TTL which can be shared by all Smartmotors.  Each device also has 2 extra serial ports for additional communication.

A Combitronic CAN network is also used by Animatics SMNC CNC software. Like JenCNC, SMNC is a DWG to G-Code converter but on steroids.   It is fast, precise and easy to use.  Once your 6-axis network is scaled in the software, AutoCAD files are then utilized to select pathways for motion.

Ø       ANIMATICS Jen CNC

JenCNC is a full-featured 3D CNC Software package designed exclusively to run Animatics SmartMotors.

It combines features of both a CAD/CAM and a Motion-Control Software package into a unique graphical user interface for controlling 2 to 4 Class 4 SmartMotors in true 3D coordinated motion. With real time 2D and 3D plotting to the screen, DXF-to-G-Code conversion and Conversational G-Code building; this is just the beginning to get your CNC machine up and running in no time

ACS Motion Control

ACS EtherCAT controllers can handle the high level tasks of machine control,  such  as  application  programs,  communication  with  the  host  PC  or  HMI,  safety  &  error  handling  and  motion  profile generation. All real time control tasks are executed by EtherCAT slave controllers. It can control up to 32 axes of fully synchronized motion.

All EtherCat slave modules that comply with CoE protocol and are qualified by ACS can be controlled by any of ACS EtherCAT master controllers.

The ACS SPiiPlusNTM  and corresponding network slave drives and I/O modules offer full machine control solutions for up to 32 axes, with a smaller footprint and lower cost when compared with competing control solutions. Our universal drive technology provides a flexible solution essential for all motor topologies. The SPiiPlusNTM is supported by the ACSPL+ high level programming language and set of software tools such as the SPiiPlus MMI Application Studio and API for host application development.

These tools include a full PC-based controller simulator that greatly reduces the cost of ownership and time to market for OEMs, system integrators, and end users.
