Leuze Electronic Single-Beam Safety Sensors The Through-beam safety light barrier SLS 78/R is an active optoelectronic protective device (AOPD) type 4 according to EN-/IEC 61496-1, -2. It consists of transmitter and receiver. The Type 4 light barrier, like the ROBUST Multiple Light Beam Safety Device system, is designed for operation under unfavorable environmental conditions. With the help of deflecting mirrors, security barriers on several axes may also be created.

Leuze Electronic Safety Light Curtains COMPACT Safety Light Curtains and Multiple Light Beam Safety Devices are active optoelectronic protective devices (AOPD) type 4 according to EN 61496-1, -2 and/or IEC 61496-1, -2. The system consists of a transmitter and a receiver, and is obtainable as a light curtain with 14 mm and 30 mm resolution or as a Multiple Light Beam Safety Devices with 50 mm and 90 mm resolution. The design may include either two, three or four beams. Its range of functions is flexible and can be extended at will by the use of external interface modules of the MSI series. The well established COMPACT Safety Light Curtain is now available as the COMPACT EX 1, which is suitable for use in areas where there is risk of explosion either in zone 2 (gas) or zone 21 (dust) or as the COMPACT EX 2, which is suitable for use in areas where there is risk of explosion either in zone 2 (gas) or zone 22 (dust).

Leuze Electronic Safety Area Scanners The ROTOSCAN RS4-4 is a non-contact optical area scanner. Like a radar laser scanners permanently scan the complete field of work in an angle of 190° and a radius of several meters and so monitor a two-dimensional area. Within this work area independent detection and warning zones can be programmed with a PC software. Persons entering the detection zones will be detected and an emergency stop signal will be generated for machinery. The applications of the ROTOSCAN RS4 4 are the protection of persons by safeguarding danger areas at stationary machines and mobile systems; in the same way it carries out manifold measurement tasks.
